How does Shiatsu work

Shiatsu works on the Five Elements theory and Meridian theory of South Eastern Medicine, Shiatsu practitioners uses the diagnosis techniques of pules taking and palpation of the abdominal area (Hara) in Japanese, to identify what organs are deficient (Kyo) or excess (Jitsu) once the patient has been diagnosed the Shiatsu practitioner will put in place a treatment strategy based on the findings, Shiatsu work on the theory that if there is excess in a Meridian there is a blockage of the flow of Ki in (Japanese) and Qi in (Traditional Chinese Medicine), and will use dispersing techniques to unblock the KI, if the Meridian is deficient the practitioner will use tonification technique to strengthen the flow of Ki using Acupressure or palms along the effected Meridian thus harmonising the Yin and Yang Balance back to the body the practitioner may also use Moxa and Cupping to move Ki.
